The YMCA Progressive Swim Lessons Program is divided into seven levels and is oriented towards student-centered learning. It is designed to ensure the student's safety, provide for regular, progressive success, and make the learning process more enjoyable. Personal growth, stroke development, water games and sports, personal safety and rescue are incorporated into each level.
If you are unsure of your child's level, call the YMCA before registering. Register for one class in one session only. YMCA membership is required to participate in swim lessons. For more information, call Bonnie Bremer 651-388-4724.Registration for our Winter/Spring Session of Swim Lessons will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at 10:00 am. A up-to-date swim lesson schedule is available to download here or may be picked up at the YMCA. A completed registration form must be completed and returned to the Y by 9:00 am. This class is a special time for you and your child to enjoy the water together. This class provides a great oppotunity to spend quality time with your child and help prepare them for swim lessons. The class format includes water safety, kicking, floating, songs, games, and water adjustment.
Open to children ages 1-3. One parent must enter the water with their child. Swim diapers are required. This class will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:30 pm. Parents may choose from Session 1 - January 7th - February 11th or Session 2 - March 4th - April 8th. Registration is required. Registration for the next session will be held on Tuesday, December 16th. A registration form must be completed and returned to the YMCA.
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Private swim lessons for youth, teens and/or adults are available in August and September. They will also be available in October, November and December, but on a limited basis. Lessons are given by appointment only. There is an additional cost, for more information contact Kathy Tesch at 388-4724.
Always saying you want to learn how to swim? The Adult Swim Lesson program makes it easy to learn how to swim - even after all those years. Don't put it off any longer and sign up today. Classes are small and each participant works at the level they are capable of handling. Adults will learn the basics of swimming or they can refine their strokes to become a lap swimmer.

Lifeguard Training: Dates to be announced
This course will certify participants in Red Cross Lifeguard Training. Participants need to be a minimum of 15 years old and be able to do a couple of prerequisites including a 300 yard continuous swim. The course also includes Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. The cost is $155.00 per person, $145.00 for YMCA members. For more information contact Bonnie Bremer.
