  1. The Red Wing Family YMCA is a membership-based organization committed to serving its members, then the community and general public.  Some YMCA programs may be opened to the public for an activity fee.
  2. The purpose of membership is to benefit the member and further the goals of the YMCA.
  3. Membership is open to all regardless of race, creed, religion, age, gender, financial status or disability.
  4. Types of membership will be determined by the Membership/Marketing Committee and the Board of Directors with input from the Finance Committee.
  5. Membership rates will be reviewed annually and recommended by the Board of Directors with consideration to general affordability and budget needs.  These rates will be determined by the Board of Directors.
  6. Methods of payment will be defined by the Membership/Marketing Committee and administered by the staff.
  7. Financial assistance is available to those with financial need.
  8. Conduct:  We expect persons using the YMCA to behave in a mature and responsible way, and to respect the rights and dignity of others.  Our membership policy does not permit language or any action that can hurt or frighten another person, or that fall below a generally accepted standard of conduct that is based on our YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.  Prohibited actions specifically include:  Inappropriate attire, angry or vulgar language, physical contact with another person in any angry or threatening way, any demonstration of sexual activity or contact, harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language or any menacing behavior, theft, behavior that results in the destruction of property, carry or concealing any weapons, or using/possessing illegal chemical or alcohol on YMCA property.
  9. Disputes between members:  If there is a dispute between members that can’t be resolved, it should be brought in writing, with solutions to the attention of the Program Committee.  The Program Committee will review and conduct a hearing with the affected members within a two month period.
  10. A membership may be extended for verifiable medical reasons.
  11. Loitering is not permitted in or outside the YMCA.
  12. All memberships and program fees are subject to change, in order to maintain quality of service.  Refunds may be made only when there is a cancellation of program services, when membership privileges are suspended or when a person moves to a city where there is no YMCA within 35 miles, to which membership may be transferred.
  13. Memberships are non-transferable from person to person.
  14. The Red Wing Family YMCA will extend guest privileges to membership from other YMCA’s on a short term basis.  (Two weeks or 14 visits per calendar year).
  15. People, who are not YMCA members, visiting the Red Wing area from out-of-town (more than 35 miles) may pay a daily guest fee each time they wish to use the Red Wing Family YMCA.
  16. Local people (within 35 miles of Red Wing) may purchase a daily guest pass up to three times per calendar year.
  17. Members of other YMCAs may transfer their membership to the Red Wing Family YMCA.
  18. Personal business which involves the sale of items or services can not be conducted at the Red Wing Family YMCA without permission from the Board of Directors.
  19. Smoking is prohibited at the YMCA, on the property and at off site programs.
  20. Membership policies and procedures will be reviewed by the Membership/Marketing Committee.
