Registration for the Fall session will be held on

Tuesday, August 26th beginning at 10:00 am.

Registration forms must be completed and returned to the YMCA

by 9:00 am on August 26th.

Class Descriptions:       Schedule

Polliwog: Beginners - swimmers wear float belts. They work on water adjustment, front and back paddle stroke, bobbing, and safety.

Bluegill: Swimmers who still need a float belt. They work on rhythmic breathing with kickboard, trading water, adn setting swimming goals.

Guppy: Swimmers who no longer wear a float belt. They work on front alternating paddle stroke, rhythmic breathing without kickboard, back swim, floating, and kneeling dive

Minnow: Swimmers who passed out of Guppy. They work on front and back crawl stroke (25 yards), standing dive, endurance swims, and personal safety.

Fish: Swimmers who pass out of Minnow. They work on Breaststroke, elementary backstroke, dolphin kick,, and distance swims.

Flying Fish: Swimmer who pass Fish. They work on Butterfly, side stroke, diving, rescue breathing, and individual medley.

Shark: HELP (heat escape lessening posture) for 10 minute, racing start, breaststroke start, flip turn for crawl stroke, backstroke start and open turns, 250 yard lifesaving medley, feet first surface dive to 6-8 feet.

Porpoise: Increase speed of strokes, assist teaching polliwog level, snorkeling, double trudgen crawl, deep water boat entrance & rescue swims
