Even if you've used the equipment before, this orientation is extremely helpful. During this one-hour session a fitness staff member will lead you through each piece of equipment. He or she will measure you on each apparatus and record the proper placements for you so you'll get the best, safest workout when you're on your own.

This six-week program connects you to a certified YMCA personal trainer who will tailor an effective workout specifically for you. Your fitness plan will include cardiovascular work, full-body strength training, and stretching exercises. After the initial session, you and your trainer will meet an additional time to monitor success and make changes if necessary.

They'll design a workout that's perfect for you, provide motivation, and adjust your training as you progress.

Groups of two to four people can now get together for personal training!
As a Y member you can organize your own group, or sign up and be placed by staff in a group. Then a YMCA personal trainer will customize a program designed to fit your specific group's needs. This is a great way to get affordable training, see results, and meet new people.Cost

This body composition analysis compares lean muscle mass to body fat. A personal trainer will assess your body through measurements over a six-month period. During that time, he or she will analyze what parts of your body are improving in muscle and what steps are necessary to decrease body fat. This one-on-one appointment takes less than 10 minutes but will help you understand what it takes to improve your body's form and performance.

This program may be for you if you're undergoing medical treatment, dealing with a chronic illness or injury, or wanting to improve your overall health. During this 12-week course, you'll receive a 60-minute consultation with a Fairview physical therapist and a 60-minute consultation with a YMCA personal trainer. You'll then receive a personalized exercise program and constant contact with that personal trainer to monitor your success and make changes along the way.

$275 per person; $175 for YMCA members

This program is available to all members of the community who are interested in sitting down with a Y Personal Trainer and designing a workout routine just for you. Included are: two consultations, one training session and a personalized eight (8) week workout routine.

Fairview Red Wing Health Services operates a physical therapy satellite clinic within the Wellness Center of the YMCA. Fairview staff are experts in evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic and recreational injuries. Appointments are available by calling 651-267-5450. Patients do not have to be YMCA members to receive physical therapy services.
Physical Therapy Consultations are available to YMCA members on first Monday of each month from 4:30-5:00 pm on a first come, first served bases and are free.
