GIVE > Y's Men's and Women's Club

If you like to be active and accomplish projects with a group, the Y’s Men's and Women’s Club is for you. It’s a great way to meet fellow Y members, have fun, and pull together for a common cause. We’re a varied group of people, aged 20 to 80, that knows getting involved is the only way to get things done!

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

The amount you want to be involved is completely up to you. The club holds quarterly meetings, and you can sign up for as little or as much time as you want on projects that mean the most to you.

CLUB PROJECTS

Christmas Tree Sale

More area residents get their Christmas tree from the Y than any other single location. It’s a tradition people have counted on for more than 40 years. We take pride in the quality of our trees and the friendly service we provide. It's also a whole lot of fun.

Duties include:  Setting up the tree lot; cutting, hauling, and transporting fresh cut Balsam Fir trees and boughs; selling trees between Thanksgiving weekend and December 15; closing the tree lot.

Challenge Games

Every spring these community-wide games gather teams from around the community that vie for first-place trophies. It’s a week of comradery, competition, and contributions for a good cause.

Duties include: Helping organize the games; setting up the week of the events; supervising an event during the competition.

The Great Camp-Pepin Clean-Up

After a long winter, our historic summer campground for kids always needs sprucing up. This is a great weekend to pour on the elbow grease and get to work!

Duties include:  Cleaning the waterfront; cutting firewood; cleaning cabins; building picnic tables; fixing screens; and more.

HOW DOES THE CLUB HELP OUR COMMUNITY?

Every dollar raised by the club’s projects goes toward the following:

  • Youth Y membership scholarships, so every child can be part of the Y
  • Camp Pepin scholarships, because all kids deserve a camp experience
  • Y-Pals Mentoring program, so children and their mentors can enjoy special Y events
  • Y youth sports programs, to make sure kids play with safe, quality equipment
