Our Mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and the community through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body. By nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving health and well-being, and supporting and serving our neighbors, the Y ensures that everyone has the opportunity to become healthier, more confident, connected and secure.
History: History of the Red Wing Family YMCA
Over the years, our YMCA has responded to the changing needs of our communities, serving men, women, boys and girls of all faiths, races, ages, abilities, and incomes.
The Red Wing Family YMCA is fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteers that make up our Board of Directors & Trustees. These volunteers add an enormous amount of depth and experience to our staff team at the Y.
It takes many caring people to make all the great things happen at the Y. Each of us shares our time, energy and focus on strengthening our communities through helping kids reach their potential, encouraging healthy living for all ages, and giving back to our neighbors. We welcome you to stop by and say hello!
Imagine going to work knowing that what you do each day positively affects the lives of the people in your community. Working at the Y, you’ll discover more than a job—you’ll enjoy a career with a future and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those around you. We work with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds and life experience and you’ll enjoy the personal satisfaction that comes from nurturing the potential of youth and teens, improving the nation’s health and well-being and providing support to our neighbors.
The Y Team is a new way for you to get more involved with the Y and help serve people in our community. Y "Team" stands for Together Everyone Achieves Mission, and it works by drawing on each member's skills and interests to make our Y a more robust, diverse place.
