River City Days Wrap Up
Did you see us at River City Days? Perhaps you stopped by our booth? Did you see us in the parade? Did you earn a medal at the Ramble? Maybe you broke a sweat with us during our outdoor class?? Check out our overview of all things Y and River City Days below!
River City Days Booth:
With the weather being so incredibly summery in nature-our booth was quite the hit on Saturday. Over the course of the weekend we had great interactions with current members and future members. From stickers and tattoos for the kiddos to pencils, pens, guest passes and even some S.M.A.R.T. activities for the youngest friends who stopped by, we had something for everyone at our booth. We gave away some fantastic prizes too! Our prize winners were:
- Six Month Family Membership: John Steinhauer
- One Week of Traditional Camp at YMCA Camp Pepin: Emily Iverson
- Swim Lesson: Sarah Tosi
- Adult Specialty Class: Tracey Huppert
- Kids Fitness Party: Lylah Seeley
- Six, 30-minute Personal Training Sessions: Brooke Preston
We have contacted all winners-if you have yet to receive anything or arrange for a pick up of your prize, please email Chelsea L. as soon as possible to get information!
In addition to giving away some great prizes and meeting new people in the community, we brought out one of our WaveFit boards and it was a great time! Only a few fell in, but were excited about it because it was so darn hot out! In just a short time on the board, you could experience what it's like to perform a pushup, plank, crunches, even jump from front to back. Some braver folks tried some of their own tricks on the board that were sure to impress even the youngest. We'd like to thank everyone who stopped by the booth and said "Hi"!
If you haven't tried a WaveFit class yet, registration for all WaveFit sessions through December are open now! Register online and even save $5 using promo code: WEBFALL19. We also can arrange a class for your work group or high school sports team-get in touch with Heather F. to learn more!
Fitness Class Under the Entertainment Tent:
Friday morning a crew of over ten people came together and broke a sweat with Heather F. during Les Mills: BodyAttack under the Entertainment Tent to kick off the weekend right! Many members and non-members joined in on the fun, we even got some boaters to stop in a give our class a try. Heather did an amazing job and the class was a ton of fun. Workouts outside are always exciting-the bonus was, it wasn't super hot or humid yet although some people watched in awe on the sidelines of the moves this class performed throughout the workout. Great job everyone!
River City Days Parade:
One thing we always look forward to is the River City Days Parade-it is so fun to see so many smiling faces on the route. Next year, we are going to have to purchase a million freezies because we ran out a little over halfway through the route! We were able to hand out our program flyer along with kids sunglasses, stickers, tattoos, guest passes, pens and pencils. A special thank you to those who volunteered to walk with us in the parade!!
River City Ramble:
This year we had 118 adults participate in the River City Ramble and about 150 kids! What a great turnout-we'd like to thank all of the volunteers who helped during the Ramble! From setup to take down-we could not have done it without you!! Here are the winners from this years event:
