Specialty Camps

Lessons for a Lifetime.

For campers wanting to grow beyond the standard resident camp offerings, Camp Pepin presents specialty camps. Through these sessions, campers can interact with others that share the same desire to better their skills in specific interest areas.


(Grades 6-9)

By land or by sea, this camp is jam packed with adventure! Campers will learn to sail and race a 31-foot yacht together as a team during a week-long series of day and evening sessions with our big-boat sailing partner, Sail Pepin. Afternoons will be spent flying through the trees at camp on our zip line course and reaching new heights on our ropes course and faith pole. Space is limited and this camp is sure to fill!
* Sail Pepin is fully Coast Guard licensed and certified.

Session #4: July 7-12, 2019

(Grades 6-9)

This camp is focused on making you the best leader you can be-at 50 feet in the air. Spend the week doing a different high ropes obstacles such as the faith pole, zip line, giant swing, challenge course and climbing wall. Every day will be a new adventure!

(Grades 5-9)

What kind of fish are in Lake Pepin? This camp will help your child answer that question as well as what kind of habitats different types of fish need. Our focus will be bobber fishing with bait that will include lakeside and pontoon boat fishing opportunities. We will also explore Pine Creek to learn about the local watershed and the trout habitat improvements there. All of this will be provided alongside the traditional camp experiences.

New to YMCA Camp Pepin for 2019! Through hands on activities, farm fields and more, the Farm to Table camp aims to better connect youth to the food system we rely on and our natural world. They will have the opportunity to learn about the care and feeding of chickens and livestock. We will also provide some time to prepare a yummy snack from the garden. All of this will be provided alongside the traditional camp experience.
