When you come to work out at the YMCA, consider bringing your children along for the fun that awaits them at Child Watch, the Y's drop-in-childcare program. Children registered from ages six weeks to 8 years can participate in age-appropriate activities in a safe environment. Rooms are open Monday - Friday in the morning and we have limited weekend hours, too!
Peach Tree Childcare provides full-day, year-round child care options for children ages 33 months to five years. A Parent Aware 4 star curriculum program will offer your child the skills to help prepare him/her for kindergarten. Children will have extra activities such as weekly swimming, options for for swim lessons, trips to the local library, gym time and much more. Please e-mail the Director Gwen Lynch for availability.
Sunshine Corner Preschool prepares kids three to five years old for school with part-day readiness programs during the school year.
Children in kindergarten through fifth grade may use the Red Wing School District bus service to get to school in the morning for early drop off. Children may also ride the bus service back to the YMCA after school program to have development rich programming until parent can pick up. Children may have a snack, be active in our gyms, have down time to work on home work or just hang out with peers. Parents may register their child in some of our YMCA youth programs such as swim lessons, karate, basketball, tumbling, etc. Our staff will help your child get to these programs. On No School days, for an additional fee, your child may join the fun here at the YMCA while you work.
For the summer months the YMCA offers school age programs to keep your child busy.
Kid's Power Cub program is offered Monday through Friday, starting June 10th through August 30th for children entering kindergarten through 5th grade. This is full-day program is customized to your needs of care during the summer. You will find information and the registration packet on the home page Blog area of our web page. This program is certified by the State.
Summer Enrichment and Rec program is offered Monday through Friday from June 10th through July 26th for children who have completed kindergarten through 13 years of age. This is a morning program from 9 am to noon at Bay Point Park on Monday, Thursday and Fridays. The Enrichment day is on Tuesday from 9 to noon, visiting areas of town to experience hands on learning. The field trip option is on Wednesday for the whole day, taking your child around the surrounding communities. Sport Specialty camps will be offered and posted at a later time. Look for dates and times for our Baseball camp and Soccer camp.
