Celebrate Winter with YMCA Camp Pepin and the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center!

Winterfest is a FREE, open-house style event from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday, January 15.

Come and enjoy many outdoor activities, like:

  • Snowshoeing
  • Sledding
  • Cross country skiing
  • Ice skating

The winter fun continues once the sun sets, with candlelit trails, campfires, and more for the whole family to enjoy.

Plus, don’t worry about bringing any equipment – the Red Wing ELC is supplying everything you need to participate!

You can also stay warm in the Rec Hall while enjoying hot cocoa and an arts & crafts project.

Chili and corn bread available for purchase in the Dining Hall – only $6 per serving!

Event Schedule

1-3 p.m. Bird Identification with the Red Wing Park Naturalists. Using binoculars from afar, or feeding them right out of your hand, you will be able to identify the woodland birds found during the winter right here at Camp.

6-8 p.m. Stargazing with Mike Lynch. A retired broadcast meteorologist at WCCO Radio, astronomer Mike Lynch will have his fleet of giant telescopes set up for all to use.

The Goodhue County Historical Society will also be here during the day to teach us about what life was like in the area over a century ago… or longer!

And don’t miss Lake Pepin’s largest ice carousel, which will be spinning throughout the event. (Lake conditions dependent.)
